The Metropolitan Transportation Authority will be launching the Glen Cove ferry service in July to help Long Island Rail Road commuters better deal with the “summer of hell.”
The LIRR will launch two ferry routes from Glen Cove and Hunters Point in Long Island City. The ferry services will run from July 10 to September 1.
The Glen Cove ferry will transport commuters to 34th Street in Manhattan during three runs in the morning and three in the evening with a total capacity of 1,122 customers. The ferries will run from 6 to 10 a.m. and from 3 to 7 p.m.
